... taking the guesswork out of travel planning
Edinburgh, Tobermory, Oban and Glasgow: 15 nights
Arrive in Edinburgh
After getting settled into your hotel, take the rest of the day to get your bearings. Explore your neighbourhood. Perhaps visit a museum. Over the next few days, you'll explore the Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Scottish National Gallery, St. Giles Cathedral, the Real Mary King's Close and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Through Rabbies tours, consider a small organized daytrip to the Highlands or the Lowlands.

Catch the train Oban
This is a day of travel. First, it's a quick train from Edinburgh to Glasgow. Then, it's a three-hour trek through scenic Highlands landscapes north to Oban, where you'll then catch the ferry across to the Isle of Mull. On arrival, catch a bus to Tobermory. In Tobermory, book a couple of days out to explore the waters and islands of Scotland's west coast. Not to be missed: Staffa and Lunga (for outstanding landscapes and puffins respectively).

Catch the ferry back to Oban
On the way back to Glasgow, spend the night in Oban and explore this small but mighty town on Scotland's western shores. If whisky is your thing, be sure to visit the Oban Distillery (the cost of a bottle of Oban whisky from the distillery is probably the same as at duty free, but think of how much better it will taste directly from the source).

Catch the train to Glasgow
Back in Glasgow, get settled at your hotel before exploring all that this city has to offer. You'll quickly learn that this city has a far different vibe than Edinburgh. Explore the many free museums, gorgeous architecture, an amazing and scenic cemetery and a verdant botanical garden. Travel around the city either on foot or via their excellent subway system. Then, it's time to bid Scotland farewell and catch your flight home.
